Thoughts on Harry Potter

A few thoughts concerning Harry Potter, its fans, and those who feel deceived by J.K. Rowling

Transgender women are women. A woman cannot be defined simply by the narrow definition Rowling has shared on Twitter. With that in mind, I no longer see Rowling as the be-all and end-all of a fandom that celebrates diversity and inclusion of all creatures. The world of Harry Potter no longer belongs just to Rowling. We get to decide how it continues. It’s so much bigger than any one of us now, including her.

So far, here is the list of HP actors that have spoken out against Rowling and her trans-exclusionary radical feminism:

  • Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) – was one of the first to do so
  • Emma Watson (Hermione)
  • Rupert Grint (Ron)
  • Evanna Lynch (Luna)
  • Bonnie Wright (Ginny)
  • Eddie Redmayne (Newt)
  • Chris Rankin (Percy)
  • Katie Leung (Cho)

This fandom belongs to us. ALL OF US. “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Each one of these amazing, courageous, bold, and beautiful actors has turned on a bright light for everyone who has felt betrayed by this situation.
