In the writing below, I researched (1) Dr. Simone Gold, (2) the Save Our Country Coalition, (3) America’s Frontline Doctors, (4) the Tea Party Patriots, (5) Dr. Stella Immanuel, (6) Fire Power Ministries, and (7) Dr. Lisa Maragakis.
If you wish to view this video, it can be found at Bitchute. A copy is supplied below.
Dr. Simone Gold is a doctor in Los Angeles. She graduated from Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery in 1989. Her specialty is in Emergency Medicine, and she holds a license (G70224) from the state of California. She is a member of the Save Our Country Coalition (a group that is pushing for the reopening of our country during the pandemic) and has appeared on talk radio and podcast programs to advocate for the use of hydroxychloroquine. The Food and Drug Administration warned us in May 2020 that hydroxychloroquine should not be used to treat COVID-19 outside of hospital or research settings due to sometimes fatal side effects, and that it has no solid research showing any effectiveness against COVID-19. Additionally, the effective use of this drug has been debunked by the World Health Organization.
America’s Frontline Doctors was founded on July 16, 2020 by this Dr. Simone Gold. This web site, which is hosted by Squarespace and the domain registered in Toronto, Canada, lists a group of doctors that report COVID-19 information. There is little to no transparency on this web site, as there is no about page, no ownership disclosed, and their leadership lists no qualified physicians and/or researchers. While there is no direct sponshorship mentioned on their site, there is evidence that this group as well as Dr. Gold are supported by Tea Party Patriots, a group that was one of the first to post this video (and their logo can be seen in the corner of most, if not all, versions of this video).
Further, between the time I started this research and the time of publishing this post (about an hour), the site for America’s Frontline Doctors had expired.
The video mentioned was released yesterday (July 27, 2020) and showed members of America’s Frontline Doctors on the steps outside the Supreme Court claiming that hydroxychloroquine cures COVID-19 and that masks are unnecessary. The videos have since been removed from social media with multiple sources citing that the doctors made false claims.
In the video, Dr. Stella Immanuel, a religious minister and pediatrician from near Houston, Texas, says, “You don’t need masks, there is a cure.” She advocates for the use of hydroxychlorquine and the lack of masks being a necessity. Toward the end of her speech, various participants can be seen trying to get her away from the microphone.
Dr. Immanuel has been quoted in the very recent past, saying, “Endometriosis is caused by people having sex in their dreams with demons and witches.” She has also said, “Alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments.” She believes “scientists are creating a vaccine to prevent people from being religious.” And, lastly, she believes that our government is being run by “reptilians” and aliens. Dr. Immanuel previously worked as a doctor in Nigeria and calls herself a “Deliverance Minister” who is “God’s battle axe and weapon of war.” I’m not able to find any education for this doctor, but I did find that she “attended to a university and then graduated in 1990.” She does have 2 licenses, one for Pediatrics / Adolescent Medicine and another for Allopathic & Osteopathic Physicians / Family Medicine. Her doctor’s office has an address in Katy, TX, which also is listed as Fire Power Ministries. A view of this location is below:
According to Lisa Maragakis, M.D., M.P.H. of Johns Hopkins University, “Face masks help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Because it’s possible to have coronavirus without showing symptoms, it is best to wear a face covering even if you think you are healthy. A mask helps contain small droplets that come out of your mouth and/or nose when you talk, sneeze or cough. If you have COVID-19 and are not showing symptoms, a face mask reduces your chance of spreading the infection to others. If you are healthy, a mask may protect you from larger droplets from people around you.”
Dr. Lisa Maragakis is Senior Director of Infection Prevention for The Johns Hopkins Health System, and Associate Professor of Medicine for Johns Hopkins University. Her expertise is Infectious Diseases, and her research interests are epidemiology, prevention and control of healthcare-acquired infections, and antimicrobial-resistant gram negative bacilli.
America’s Frontline Doctors have been reviewed and fact-checked by many sites (in particular, Media Bias/Fact Check). From what I have been able to gather, they promote false or misleading information concerning COVID-19, they have a lack of transparancy which gives them no credibility as a source. They also use known pseudoscience sources to draw their conclusions. To put it another way, they promote conspiracy theories and give no credible sources for the information they share.
